HPD officer forced to shoot loose dog

A police officer wounded a dog in a shooting when the canine rushed toward him outside a house in north Houston�Monday morning. The��shooting happened in the 4300 block of Oxford near 43rd St. about 7:15 a.m., according to the Houston Police Department. Police said the dog was wounded in the eye, but was walking after the shooting.
