If comedian Jeff Foxworthy were more political, he could probably make hay with the differing agendas of the state Republican and Democratic parties, convening this week in their respective state conventions. If, for example, you like to break off into any one of several subgroups, then you’re bound to be a Democrat. But not just a Democrat. You’re likely to be a member of the Progressive Hispanic Caucus, a Democrats Against the Death Penalty Democrat, an Oilpatch Democrat, a member of the Muslim Democratic Caucus or the Labor Retirees Caucus or a Jewish Democrat or a Stonewall Democrat.
