Jean-Paul Sartre, the great existentialist, wrote his most famous play, In Camera, or No Exit, in 1944 about three deceased characters who are punished by being locked into a room together for eternity. That room just so happens to be one of the many rooms of hell. Sartre’s one-act play so masterfully combines the occasional chuckle with some serious drama that we are left with a truly enthralling, enlightening, and, ultimately, quite tragic piece of theatre to ponder.
